Iran is unquestionably a sponsor of global terrorism, with proven ties to supplying insurgent radicals in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It is imperative that the United States and international community take strong steps to prevent the Iranian regime from acquiring a nuclear weapon.  All options to prevent such an occurrence must remain on the negotiating table.

The goal of a stable and peaceful Middle East cannot be achieved with Iran actively fueling or accommodating Hamas, Al Qaida, Hezbolah and other radical militants in the region with cash, personnel and weapons.  Strength must be the spine of our diplomacy and the radical factions in Iran must believe we are serious. 

As a member of Congress, I will always consider Middle East matters in the widest context.  I will not support appeasement efforts or those that grant convenient accommodations to one entity or another, when the cost of doing so jeopardizes regional stability.
